jade swears this opened with everybody knows? that song by the irish band? actually, she has to stop everything she's doing to sit down on her bed, and listen, as if to make sure she's hearing this right. dave knows she knows this song? what is the point of putting it on a mixtape. aren't these usually meant for her to expand her musical horizons beyond hilary duff? she assumes, at least. she's never heard the second song, but after side a, she's catching a theme here. she's not an idiot, (several years of back and forth would argue against that, jade) and she's pretty sure by the midway part that she misread the title of side b. because holy shit, she is reading too much into this?
except the last song on this is literally if you were my girl by a1. not the steak sauce, the band. the boyband. the song by the steak sauce named boyband about asking the listener to be their girlfriend? jade's going to have a heart attack. this is a bad joke. it is the consuckiest joke she's ever heard in her life and she's only halfway through the last song when she absolutely has to pop the player open and retrieve the stupid tape and glare down at it ]
