[ it's not a bad time by any means and jade likes having the backseat to herself to and from the planetarium. it has been a long time since they've gone, and the trio walking through feels nostalgic. it doesn't really help the weight on her mind, but jade grins and bears it like she's been doing for a long, long time. it's actually not that hard - dave and rose are her best friends - it's easy to be melodramatic when you're seventeen and spent a weekend with a friend who repeatedly told you it's fine to think... certain things.
it's not a new experience to have a cassette shoved in her hands. actually, she's plenty familiar with cassettes. her mother doesn't collect them like she does vinyls, but they have a player and a few cassettes and jade knows that there's always a side b. consider also: jade wolf is constantly listening to carly rae jepsen's E•MO•TION, of which there is a companion album called E•MO•TION: Side B. she'll watch the striders peel out of the apartment complex, waving lightly, and then begins her trek upstairs. as she does, she flips the tape over in her hand and sees the other side's title. she doesn't think much of it.
she takes the player into the bathroom with her. it's not late, no. it's also sunday tomorrow, though, and jade usually does some grocery shopping in the mornings on sunday. there are better deals at the end of the week as opposed to the beginning of the week, after all. the tape is placed into it and she figures she might as well begin the arduous task of washing her hair. she can't imagine side a is longer than the time it'll take to wash and dry her hair. it's nine in the evening and jade lets it play.
and it's not that much different from the usual. dave likes his indie, and there's a few bands she's never heard before. maybe she'll ask him for more of certain artists when she finishes up, but there's still side b to listen to. he'd told her to tell him what she thought tomorrow, but if jade likes something, well. she can hardly not chase after it. it's like throwing your dog's favorite ball and expecting it not to play fetch. (also: no one tells jade wolf what to do. rule number one, strider.)
her hair is mostly towel dry by the time side a is finished. the verdict for "in my dream you are the star its you" is "excellent, as usual :D" but there's still side b. it's barely past ten thirty so jade figures her hair can air dry; it pretty much always does, anyway, because she gets distracted. no wonder dave has to tame the lion's mane for her. ]
1/idk stay where you are
